Ashwin Sridhar has the overall responsibility of building the advertising supported digital business for FOX Networks in Asia. Working across genres – Sports, Entertainment & Factual – Ashwin is focused on extending FOX’s reach beyond linear whilst also working closely with brands to provide innovative communication solutions that enables marketers to engage intelligently and effectively with consumers.

Prior to joining FOX, Ashwin was the head of digital revenue for The Economist. Where he helped take a 175-year old publication from its strong and cherished roots of the written word in print to digital with a portfolio of diversified reader products that can be read, listened to and watched. Ashwin also ran the ad network business Ideas People Media, and setup the programmatic & audience data solutions business at The Economist.

Anil Nihalani
Head, Digital Products & Technology

Anil Nihalani is Head, Digital Products & Technology at Mediacorp, a Singapore media company, where he is responsible for Toggle, the company’s over-the-top service, and its digital transmission (DVB-T2) business. He joined Mediacorp in 2014.

Prior to that, Anil spent fourteen years at the StarHub Group, where he held various leadership positions. He led the Commercial group at Nucleus Connect where he was responsible for strategic planning, product development, and sales and marketing. Before that, Anil was Vice President of Mobile Services, responsible for the strategic planning, development and management of StarHub’s portfolio of mobile products and services. He was instrumental in the planning and introduction of several new technologies including StarHub’s 3G and HSPA networks.

Anil has 24 years’ experience in the media and infocommunications industries, and spent the early years of his career at British Telecom (Singapore) and Singapore’s former telecom regulatory agency, Telecom Authority of Singapore.

He holds a Masters of Science in Communications and Signal Processing from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London, and graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electronics & Electrical Engineering.

Konstantin Knauf

Qvest Media

Konstantin is Managing Director for Qvest Media Southeast Asia, one of the world’s leading systems architects for IT and audiovisual solutions for broadcasting and media infrastructures, technology consulting and systems integration. Qvest Media is serving major media organizations internationally since more than 25 years now and is proud to name companies such as Al Jazeera, BeIN, Deutsche Welle, MediaCorp, Sky, Turner Broadcasting and many more its clients.

In his role Konstantin is responsible for the development and growth of the Qvest business as well as for managing the company’s project portfolio and sales activities in the region.

He has been working for the Qvest Media for 11 years now in various positions, managing large infrastructure projects and consultancy engagements in Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. As trained technician and diploma graduate in electrical engineering with focus on media-technology, he further holds a Master degree in General Management.

Prior to moving to Singapore in 2015, Konstantin was responsible for defining and establishing Qvest Media’s consultancy portfolio, which he is overseeing on global base till today. He has further conducted market research studies in the automotive and mobile technology sector and implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software as project lead.

Paras Sharma
Senior VP & General Manager Southeast Asia; Head of Digital Media, Asia
Viacom International Media Networks

As Senior Vice President and General Manager for Southeast Asia, Paras Sharma oversees the management and operations of the Southeast Asia business, including advertising sales, digital media, program sales and consumer products, across VIMN’s brands – MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central and Paramount Channel. Sharma is also the Asia lead for VIMN’s digital and multiplatform business.

Sharma first joined VIMN Asia as Vice President of MTV & Comedy Central Brands, and Digital Media, Asia in March 2014 with extensive experience from the world of movies, music and sports. Sharma was previously Vice President of Fox International Channels, responsible for leading integrated marketing and communication programmes across 24 markets in Asia, overseeing Consumer, Affiliate & Trade Marketing, Corporate Communications, On-Air Promotions & Digital Media. He has also worked in leading advertising agencies including JWT and McCann Erickson, and handled a wide mix of leading global and national brands across categories including Citibank, MasterCard, adidas, Bacardi Martini, Pond’s, Nestlé, and Goodyear. He graduated with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and completed an MBA in Marketing.

Jimmy Kim
Managing Director
Globecast Asia (former SVP, MNC Media)

Jimmy Kim is the Managing Director of Globecast Asia. Prior to that, he was the Senior Vice President of MNC Media, where he was responsible content acquisition and distribution, content library management, channel operation, licensing and merchandising and content formats.

Jimmy was also the CEO of Ustream Korea, an online/mobile TV platform. Ustream is a joint venture between Korea Telecom and Softbank Japan. Jimmy held other leadership positions including Vice President, Contents Distribution for Viacom International Media Networks, Managing Director of Technicolor, Head of Contents Distribution, New Media & Partnerships for Bloomberg TV Asia Pacific, Director of Contents Distribution for CNBC Asia Pacific and Global Media Alliance Manager for Samsung.

He holds a MBA in Marketing from Indiana University, and graduated from SoGang University with a degree in Business Administration and Economics.

Michael Fleshman

Michael Fleshman is the Chief Technology Office of HOOQ and leads the charge of the strategic planning and development of HOOQ’s product and platform with the mandate of ensuring HOOQ stays ahead of the curve in the OTT space. He is tasked with spearheading innovation and most of all, to deliver a flawless customer experience.

A seasoned industry veteran, Michael founded and led the charge for digital strategy and development consulting firm Notting Hill Digital after spending almost 20 years in CTO and leading roles for top media companies including BBC Worldwide where he led the teams responsible for the development of BBC Store – a TVOD extension of iPlayer, as well as the creation of new platforms for all of BBC Worldwide’s digital properties, including GoodFood, Top Gear and In addition, Michael drove and implemented a holistic customer acquisition funnel across all properties to optimize revenues, engagement and user base through the introduction of data-?driven cultures and systems.

Prior to BBC Worldwide, Michael led the team at Financial Times on the re-?platforming of in creating the industry-?leading HTML5 FT web app and moving FT to a single digitally oriented technology organization.

A graduate from Massachusetts Institutes of Technology (MIT), Fleshman spends his time geeking out on the latest tech and gadgets. When he’s not being a geek, he loves a good binge on anything by Luc Besson, particularly The Fifth Element and Lucy!

Gavin Buxton
Managing Director Asia

Gavin leads the growth of SpotX in the APAC region, where he is focused on helping broadcaster and brands realise the value of addressable video advertising across all stream and all screens.

Gavin has over 18 years’ global experience in media, having worked in leadership roles at tech and publishing companies, including Microsoft, Turner Broadcasting, S4M and LinkedIn, with the last eight years based in Asia building businesses. His expertise spans television, OTT, CTV, IPTV, digital, search, programmatic, mobile, content marketing and social media.

He is an active participant within the media industry and currently sits on the board of the IAB SEA.

Christophe Hochart

Teresa Cheung

Eurofins Digital Testing

Teresa is currently the Managing Director of Eurofins Digital Testing Hong Kong. She joined Digital TV Labs in 2009 before the acquisition by Eurofins, and has been leading both the technical and sales support teams to assist Asian STB and IDTV manufacturers to satisfy European requirements with the shortest time-to-market. Her major focus includes CI+, HbbTV, DVB SIPSI, RF, DVB-SSU, MHEG-5 and Conax testing. Teresa holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hong Kong. Before that she had attained both Master of Philosophy and Bachelor of Science technical degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She also holds PMP project management certificate, and has strong experience in ISO 17025.

Jonas Engwall
Head of Asia

With more than 14 years’ experience in broadcasting and television, Mr. Engwall brings extensive expertise and a proven track record for leading business growth and international expansion.

As founding CEO of RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network, he spearheaded the launch of two of the company’s channels across 19 Asian markets. He previously served as Vice President at RTL Group Asia (RTL), where he led the Group’s expansion into India and Asia, which included the launch of RTL’s Indian Channel. Prior to RTL, he was instrumental in the expansion of Modern Times Group’s free-to-air television business into emerging markets in Eastern Europe.

Alexandre Muller
Managing Director Asia

Alexandre Muller established TV5MONDE’s Asia Pacific Headquarter in 2007. With 20 years of experience in the Region, Mr. Muller is responsible for TV5MONDE’s business development, marketing, advertising and new media research and development for the Company.

Member of the Company’s Management Committee since 1992, Alexandre MULLER as been the company’s representative for the Bruges Group (European Public Television Group) from 1998 till 2007, and is a member of the CASBAA Board of Directors since 2012, and the Board Member responsible for the CASBAA OTT and Connected Media Committee.

Dr Ahmad Zaki Mohd Salleh
Director, Technical Operations TV Networks
Media Prima Berhad

Ahmad Zaki Mohd Salleh was born in Pahang, Malaysia. He received his B.Sc. Engineering (Hons.) from University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1989 and Ph.D in Engineering in 1994. In 2005, he obtained an executive MBA in International Marketing from Berne University of Applied Science.

He served as a lecturer between 1994 until 1996 in the Department of Electronics & Communications Engineering, University Putra, Malaysia. He also served as an engineer with Globecom Research Sdn Bhd in 1995 until 1996 and is involved in installing Cellular Radio Base Stations in Malaysia and Bangladesh.

 In July 1996, he joined Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (or better known as TV3) as an Assistant Manager, Transmission Development and Projects. He was involved in the planning, operations and maintenance of TV3’s transmitters as well as specific engineering projects. In 2005, he served as the General Manager Engineering for Natseven TV Sdn Bhd. In 2007, he was seconded to Primedia Inc. in Philippines as a part of Media Prima’s international venture. He was responsible for the design and installation of a 120kW VHF solid-state liquid cooled, transmitter system for ABC5, Manila as well as redesigning the internal workflow of the playout centre. He returned to Malaysia in December 2009 and today, he is the Director, Technical Operations TV Networks for Media Prima Berhad.

 Dr Zaki has been actively involved with the national committees for the development of Digital TV standards in Malaysia. He chaired the 1st sub-committee in 1997 (WG7) under the ITU (International Telecommunications Union), Malaysian chapter for the recommendation of the Digital TV standards to the Malaysian Government. The recommendation for the implementation of DVB-T was later adopted by Malaysia as the national Digital TV standard.

 Upon the formation of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, he continued his service as a member of the various committees under the MCMC some of which includes the Digital TV set-top-box committee, the national standard radio systems plan (SRSP) committee and many more.

Michele Lai Chin

Michele is a senior consultant and solutions architect at Qvest Media Asia. Qvest Media is one of the world’s leading systems architects for IT and audio-visual solutions for broadcasting and media infrastructures, technology consulting and systems integration. Qvest Media is serving major media organizations internationally since more than 25 years now and is proud to name companies such as Al Jazeera, BeIN, Deutsche Welle, MediaCorp, Sky, Turner Broadcasting and many more its clients.

Michele started his journey through media an entertainment in 2010, at computer music centre Ircam in Paris, France. Since then, he has been deeply involved in the industry – music, broadcast, OTT and publishing – covering roles from project director to presales architect and technology consultant.

After various experiences in Europe, Asia and Africa, he has been based in Singapore since 2014 where he initially pushed Dalet Systems’s growth to a regional market leader in Media Asset Management and currently shapes Qvest Media’s positioning and portfolio of innovative tech solutions including AI, cloud, online video and digital publishing, with a focus on the Asia Pacific market. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering and Digital Signal Processing from Telecom ParisTech and a Master’s Degree in Computer Music from the University of Paris 6 Pierre et Marie Curie.

Wasu recently stepped down as managing director at Circus Social, a social data analytics company he co-founded in 2012, which counts WPP Group as a partner and shareholder.

Prior to establishing Circus Social, Wasu, had worked in a number of senior roles across the IT, education, services, consumer electronics, advertising and data analytics industries, and has been based in Singapore since 2004.

Christel Quek

Christel is a technology executive who has built brands and digital businesses since the advent of the digital economy, and held key leadership roles leading digital strategy globally for Havas Media Group and Samsung in Asia. During her 3 years with Twitter, Christel was Head of Content across Twitter’s international markets, and led the business narratives for Twitter’s revenue organisation. More recently Christel set up Brandwatch (digital intelligence SaaS platform) in Asia, growing the business to million dollar billings, with clients such as Samsung, Uber, Cathay Pacific, and Telstra. Christel has been recognised as one of the top 10 digital strategists globally by The Guardian, a Woman to Watch by Campaign Asia, and one of the top executives to follow on Twitter by Business Insider.

Maurizio Barbieri
Head of Sports Partnerships for SEA

Being a giant nerd, Maurizio has always been interested in tech and sport and in media (movies and moviemaking are one of his passions). After a successful career as a basketball coach, He started working in the digital field in 1999, joining MP Web, the digital media arm of the Mediapartners Group, the most important sports agency in Italy. MPWeb become a leader in the production and distribution of media content for the then called new media and Maurizio worked both in Europe and in Asia, before turning into an entrepreneur, founding and raising capital for two startups.

He returned to Asia in 2013, taking the post of Head of Sports for Samsung Asia, creating and launching one of the most successful services of the Korean company in the region at the time, Samsung SportsFlow.

After a brief stint with another startup, Maurizio joins Twitter with the goal of growing communities, driving conversations around sport and creating new revenue opportunities for Twitter’s partners, by creating a lineup of programmes that will satisfy the ever-angry-for-content audience in South East Asia.


Unmish Parthasarathi
Global Head of Digital Sales
International Cricket Council

Unmish is highly experienced at strategically combining content with commerce, across diverse cultures, ethnicities, behaviors, languages, devices, time and locations, using digital media technologies. He is currently the Global Head of Digital Sales for the International Cricket Council as well as a Founding Partner of Picture Board Pte Ltd.

With over 15 years of digital experience, Unmish has a deep understanding of the production, distribution and licensing of sport and news content genres, having worked for large organizations such as News Corp, Fox Sports Asia and ESPN STAR Sports to name a few.

Unmish is active in the startup & incubation space in Singapore & India via Picture Board, his private vehicle that advises & invests founders and principal investors in early stage businesses.

A thought leader in his space, Unmish also regularly presents and speaks at conferences on a wide variety of topics.

Louis Boswell

As CEO for CASBAA, Boswell will serve as the content distribution industry’s leading advocate with industry leaders and policymakers throughout Asia-Pacific. In addition to driving the programs and initiatives of the Association, Boswell will work with business heads of the member organisations to shape positively the increasingly rapid evolution of the industry in the region.

Boswell’s background in Asia includes senior positions at Discovery, ESPN Star Sports, BBC, AETN All Asia Networks and, most recently, as the General Manager, Asia for Da Vinci. His experience includes leading businesses in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and all of the major markets in southeast Asia.

Thomas Lund
Secretary General / COO
Badminton World Federation

Thomas Lund commenced his role as Chief Operating Officer of the Badminton World Federation in June 2009.

In May 2012, he was re-designated as the BWF Secretary General following an amendment to the Constitution.

A former professional badminton player (1988–1997), he is a two-time World champion in Mixed Doubles (1993 and 1995) and also has three All England titles. He was inducted into the BWF Hall of Fame in 2009.

Upon his retirement as a professional player, he joined the Badminton Association of Denmark as Performance Director (1997–2001) and then CEO (2001–2007).

Prior to joining BWF, Lund was Director of Badminton at HEAD Sports and responsible for the worldwide distribution of badminton equipment.

Having worked with several national and international commercial agencies, broadcasters and sponsors, Lund has extensive experience in the business side of the sport, both in sponsorship and media issues in general.

His previous experience serves him well in his current role leading the day-to-day operations to meet the core business of the federation – badminton events worldwide, income generation through BWF properties, the development of badminton globally and servicing the needs of BWF’s membership.

Born in Aarhus, Denmark in 1968, Lund graduated from the Copenhagen Business School with a Masters in Marketing and a Masters in Business and Economics. He now resides in Malaysia with his wife and two sons.

He is an avid sports enthusiast and particularly enjoys golf and cycling.

Anson Tan
General Manager, Digital Media, Singapore (Viu)

Anson believes in how technology is disrupting and enabling the way media is brought and consumed now and forward. Being an early adopter of Over The Top, he is focused to constantly engage and being relevant to the users.

He is currently the General Manager of Viu Singapore responsible for the overall business of Viu including marketing, content, product, operations and customer acquisition. Since the launch of Viu Singapore in Jan 2016, we have gained great user reception and Viu is the destination for users to get their entertainment fix.

Anson was previously the CTO of Digdaya Duta Digital and had successful launched Dens TV, a brand new OTT based platform offering interactive, multi-screen service including set top box, mobiles and PC. He also contributed greatly on the go to market strategy and planning of Dens TV.

 During his position as the VP of Technology with BesTV International, Anson has planned and successfully launched a number of OTT video services in Asia including UseeTV, XL Nonton, First Media Go among other services.

Shabir Momin

Started working at a very early age and became the youngest CTO at the age of 21, he was also awarded as the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013 by TIE and Young Entrepreneur award by Business World in 2018. Shabir has had a successful track record in various technology and business positions at a CXO level for few years before he became an entrepreneur. He has successfully exited few ventures in the past and his current ventures that he has founded and co-founded are Zenga TV, one of the leading OTT services in India, OneDigital Entertainment Largest, a Digital content company,, a unique self-serve multi-platform distribution and monetization video ecosystem with over few thousands of content owners, creators and brand advertisers on board, InnovCrowd Pte Ltd which owns two Crowd funding platforms – DesiredWings and Catapooolt focusing on reward based and equity crowd funding respectively, Rastey a Cab Service, Wyze Bots, a chat bot company, Creators Gurukul a chain of co-working space across India and SSN Solution, a data science company etc are among the few of his ventures. He has further investments in renewable power and few other industries. Cheah Yew Kuin

Yew Kuin holds the position of Director & Senior Counsel, Global Content Protection at 21st Century Fox. Yew Kuin has oversight over content protection matters in the Asia Pacific Region and he regularly works with industry associations and local authorities to develop strategies to take action against content piracy. Prior to joining 21st Century Fox, Yew Kuin was practicing in an International Law Firm and has over a decade of experience in dealing with contentious IP and anti-piracy matters. In his spare time, Yew Kuin also lectures at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Film and Media School where he teaches Media Law to aspiring film students.

Brad has also created a number of highly successful original programs in a number of markets, and was responsible for the iconic Bule Gila (Bugil) in Indonesia and Can You Serve in Singapore. Whilst living in Indonesia, Brad was Head Of Content for the national network ANTV and took them from 11th to 5th position in the ratings in 6 months, in their 16 year history they have never been higher than 9th and are now consistently the number one network.

Passionate about the future direction of television, OTT & video content, with fifteen years’ experience within creation, distribution, monetisation & audience engagement & holding his Masters degree in Screen & Business, Steve currently leads the Comcast International Market Development group from London.  The group shows CTS as a premium strategic partnership for online video and includes business consultancy & data insight.

Before this Steve initiated and then directed the global video strategy consultancy division of Ooyala from London, a division set up to be laser focussed on the business of IP delivered video, helping content owners transition business models to online. Steve also managed IPTV, OTT and broadcast products for Australia’s National Broadband Network, delivering strategic advice to the team building a network capable of the next generation of video delivery and interactivity.

Previously, while in content at FOXTEL Australia, Steve took on various roles including TV operations and execution of digital & interactive TV monetisation strategies.  His team won back to back awards for the best use of video technology & audience engagement.

Steve completed his Masters dissertation on the future of sports broadcasting legislation, which was quite apt as he spends far too much time watching Football and Cricket on whatever device is available to him.

Elaine Uy

At 35 years old, Elaine Uy holds the critical position of OIC-Head of ABS-CBN’s Digital Media Division / OTT, concurrent with her role as Head of Digital Operations. She oversees the corporate-wide digital strategy and business intelligence, while spearheading creative, social media and product initiatives. 

 In her 5 years in ABS-CBN, Elaine has championed numerous projects that brought recognition to the company. But her career in digital all started with her 5-year service in Yehey! Corporation as Chief Marketing Officer, handling digital production, digital publishing, social media and corporate marketing. Participation Terms and Conditions

General Provisions

  • Admission will be open to accredited registrants to Media Innovation Forum 2018. The organiser reserves the right to refuse or regulate admission to any person.
  • Organiser reserves its right to unilaterally and ipso jure refuse or withdraw to any person for the Event(s) and/or for any future events organised by Alpha Global Network (AGN) in case of any breach or non-performance of the rules by the registrant, without prejudice of any damages that the Organiser could claim because of such breach and/or of the non-performance.
  • Cancellation of registration by delegate: Unless there is a replacement, otherwise no refund will be made of any money paid to the Organiser in the event that the registrant decides not to participate in the forum. The Organiser may retain all amount paid by the registrant and also to recover all amounts due under this agreement.
  • Force Majeure: The Organiser shall not be liable to the registrant by reason of any cancellation of the Forum, that is due to any circumstances not within the Organiser’s control. But a re-schedule date for the Forum will be set and the registration monies received by the organizer up to the date of the force majeure will be carried forward to the next scheduled forum.
  • Organiser reserves the right to use any submitted information for marketing purposes. Exclusivity of the Participant’s activities within the confines of the Event(s).
